Radiological signs
of
urinary bladder rupture
Thebladder shadow is absent or small and contracted
Fluid with in the peritoneal cavity causes loss of intra-abdominal detail.
Intestinal ilus may be present secondary to peritonitis.
Positive contrast cystography,using an aqueousorganic iodide preparation,will show leakage of contrast material into the peritoneal cavity.
Intravenous urography will whether there has been concomitant damage to kidneys and ureters.
